Established in 1998, f8 Professional Photography has been instrumental in creating a new image for commercial photography in the Maldives . Since its inception f8 has gained popularity rapidly through the composition of myriad classic impressions for individuals, private and public enterprises and the government. Public appreciation has, therefore, endorsed f8 Professional Photography as the ‘elite' in photography business in the Maldives .

The photographer behind this pioneering effort, as majority shareholder of the company, is Yassin Hameed who was trained in the UK and has over 15 years of experience in commercial photography.

The Portrait Gallery is a trade name owned by f8 Professional Photography , and the studio which the company operates under this name is currently the leading studio in the country. We specialise in offering portrait facilities for babies and children, bride and groom, couples, family, glamour, executives and graduates.

Our expertise facilitates studio portraiture, event coverage, group photos, studio-based and location photography. Our clientele includes government agencies, public and private companies and the general public. We are dedicated to contribute to national development and therefore, actively contribute to social and community efforts. We also support youth activities through sponsorship and event coverage.

We are keen to ensure human resource development in the field of photography and the provision of training and apprentice opportunities to prospective photographers is, therefore, a priority on the agenda of f8 Professional Photography. We run tailored courses for interested parties providing them the opportunity for the transfer of skills in the field of photography.
